I. Working Principle
The main working principle of small range torque sensor is electromagnetic induction. When a conductor rotates in a magnetic field, an induced current is generated in the conductor. Similarly, when a gear rotates in a magnetic field, the magnetic flux in the magnetic field will change, thus generating positive and negative induced electromotive force at the root and top of the teeth of the gear, respectively. This induced electromotive force is proportional to the angle of rotation of the gear. By measuring the magnitude of this induced electromotive force, the magnitude of torque can be determined.
Second, the structure of the characteristics
The structure of small-range torque sensor usually includes the following main parts:
Elastic element: generally made of highly elastic materials, such as stainless steel, alloy steel and so on. It plays the role of transmitting torque, while converting mechanical energy into elastic potential energy.
Magnetic circuit system: It includes permanent magnets and magnet conductors. The permanent magnet generates a constant magnetic field, while the conductor guides the magnetic field in a specific direction.
Induction coil: Usually wound with enameled wire, it can sense changes in the magnetic field and generate a corresponding electrical signal.
Adjustment device: used to adjust the sensitivity and zero position of the sensor.

Range: refers to the sensor can measure the large torque value.
Precision: refers to the accuracy of the sensor measurement, usually expressed in terms of error range.
Sensitivity: refers to the relationship between the electrical signal output from the sensor and the measured torque value.
Response Time: This refers to how quickly the transducer responds to changes in torque.
Operating temperature range: refers to the temperature range in which the sensor can work normally.

Because small-range torque sensors have the advantages of accurate measurement, small size, moderate price, etc., they are widely used in a variety of fields that need to measure torque, such as automotive, aerospace, robotics, textile machinery and so on. In these fields, small-range torque sensors are mainly used to measure and control parameters such as shaft torque, wheel edge torque, and torque.
